Once you've passed your licensing exams, you can become established with a brokerage. In order to have the designation of REALTOR®,  you need to join an Arizona Local Association. 

Anyone with an active real estate license from an approved school may apply for membership, however, only those accepted as members may use the registered trademark term REALTOR®. This is an industry mark that symbolizes one’s personal commitment to real estate as a career and sets you apart as a realtor working on the best interest of your clients with integrity and valor.

The next step of the process requires applications to be submitted to the Central Arizona Association of REALTORS® for approval. Please be sure your broker holds a current CAAR membership. In order for agents to join, their brokers must first hold a membership with our association.

In-person New Member Orientation within the first 90 days is required for all new CAAR members. We do not offer remote or Zoom training as it does not have the same results as in-person learning.  Members will be provided with a binder that includes important local information. We are in a specialty area with numerous issues such as septic systems, water issues, trees, along with others. Members that do not work primarily in Rim Country will benefit from the information. More can be learned in-person with live questions and answers.

Agents and Brokers alike consistently provide feedback that the class was worth their time and they learned valuable information. There are no exceptions for not attending the class within 90 days of becoming a member.  It is equally important for a broker to attend as they are ultimately responsible for their agents.
